MINIMALISM & THE HOME

I’ve been decluttering and getting things down to 50% capacity around the home for the past few months and we have probably taken 7 mini van loads to donate. It feels so good! The mental and emotional benefits of having less is more clarity, less anxiety, and obviously a clean space.

Calendula is wonderful for helping the lymphatic system to drain. If your lymphatic system is clogged, it will be a challenge for you to physically do the act of decluttering. Drinking this in a tea might help if you have a goal of being more minimalistic and just can seem to get there!

MY PROCESS:

Step 1 - Take everything out of the space you would like to declutter.

Step 2 - Decide what to eliminate. Purge things that haven’t been used, take up a lot of space, or have multiples of.

Step 3 - Put the things you wish to keep back into their new homes. My goal is 50% capacity in cupboards and closets to give breathing room in our home. It’s not always possible, but it’s the goal!

Step 4 - Get the items you wish to donate out. Set aside a time to take them to the thrift store or give to someone in need.
