ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Jess!

I’ve been married for 20 years and have 5 kids, age 2-14. I love to laugh and surround myself with nature, plants, and books.

You can find me most in the garden, tending and preserving the harvest. If not there, you’ll find me at the thrift store in search of ways to give old things new life. (Fun fact, probably 90% of our home is thrifted!)

Nearly 9 years ago, my oldest son had some heath issues that prompted me to look into natural healing instead of using lifelong pharmaceutical medications (on our 5 year old!). I believe God created our bodies to heal and trusted that He would direct our steps.

We turned to whole foods, eliminated household toxins, dug into natural medicines, and embraced a simple lifestyle. I’ll never go back to how we used to live! This lifestyle is excellent and a wonderful way to raise kids with strong bodies.

This is why I’m passionate about growing, tending, and preserving food! There is value in living out simple things.

I love my kids! I’d have 20 if I could!

My home is my haven. I would be fine with never leaving the house for months on end.

I’m fine with having poop & dirt on me, but would freak out if bleach/Lysol splashed onto me.
