Waterglassing Eggs 101

It’s a simple technique to keep eggs shelf stable for up to 1 year!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 ounce pickling lime (calcium hydroxide)

  • 1 quart water

Mix water and lime together. Add unwashed, clean eggs and a lid. That’s it! To use, pull eggs from water and give a rinse. Use like normal.

I water glassed mine in a glass 1/2 gallon container, but you can use any size container that works best for you - even a 5 gallon bucket!
